el tiempo lo cura todo, 2018
Interactive installation consisting of a knitted piece that recorded events occurring during the knitting process. The piece was marked each time a disruptive event or intrusive thought took place.
The second part of the installation was a journal describing each mark with a timestamp, aiming to build a record of banalities and to make the passage of time ‘visible’. Throughout the project, I was interested in how mundanity constitutes life itself, tied to the idea of losing oneself in an activity and to the experience of time passing in everyday life.
Part of the exhibition also involved knitting during the show itself, expanding the journal and inviting visitors to write their own timestamps. The project was part of Laboratorio Cano 2018, a program on experimental practices at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the National University of Colombia.
